One of the most important investment one can make is a vehicle. Why? because its how you get around...to go to work, to go places, and experience life. So it is important to make sure your vehicle is well maintained and provide you the freedom to move about. Having breakdowns on your way to work, a meeting, or on your way to church is just too much hassle.
Lets be honest here, Auto repair and services is not cheap, its expensive. Its even more expensive when the "mechanic" performing the services on your vehicle is untrustworthy or unqualified causing more headaches, time, and money. So, how do you find the best auto repair? Don't worry here are some tips.
Tip#1 Ask your friends or family on where they recommend to bring your car for service
Tip#2 Do your own research. Just because someone recommended a place doesn't mean it fits your needs. Go on google and check the reviews of the shop recommended to you.
Tip#3 Google "best auto repair near me"
Tip#4 Check and read the reviews. Don't just base it on 5 stars...get a feel of the reviews and comments from customers.
Tip#5 Call the shop! get a feel of how they communicate with you. Are they helpful?
Tip#6 Don't base it on price, "Cheap shops" can actually cost you more money. its called Bait and switch scams, where your promised a cheap price ending up to be more. Or when they replace unnecessary parts leaving you with same problems and less money in your pocket.
Tip#7 Good shops typically wont give out prices, rather they will want to inspect the vehicle first then provide an accurate estimate. Most shops are even willing to provide this initial inspection free of charge.
Tip#8 Check credentials. Are they ASE certified? are they part of any organization like ASA or have good BBB ratings?
Tip#9 Check for Value! Do they provide shuttle service? free Uber rides to home or work? Pick up/Drop off service?
Tip#10 Do they have warranty on their work? Good shops should have at least a 24 month / 24,000 mile part and labor nationwide warranty.
